Bill of Lading is a document which is used to admit the receipt of shipment of goods. A transportation company gives this document to the shipper. And this document defines the details of the goods and timing of the delivery of the products. It is also known as BOL or B/L. The document is the final contract of the moving company or the carrier, which defines the term and condition of the contract. It’s a process through which the company and the customer both can trust each other and can perform their task for the good result and successful work done. The bill provides minor details which are agreed by a shipper and transportation company. The bill also gives the detail of the export and import of the company. The significance of the bill of lading can be understood by in view of the following chain of events of a transaction. An individual wish to ship a shipment of goods overseas approaches a transport line by reserving space on the ship. The shipper then instructs the place and time of delivery of the goods and the individual is then gives a receipt indicating the type and quantity of the goods and the state in which the carrier’s agent received them. Then, the transporter is responsible for the goods.


The bill lading must have the following things
• Date of bill
• Place from where the goods have been received.
• Place where the goods have to be transported.
• Name of the individual from whom the goods have been received.
• Guidelines about the goods received will be delivered to a particular person or not.
• A description of the goods.
• Signature of the carrier.
